About this game

Sunsweep Acres is a free farming game online with no download. A band of sunlight sweeps across your field, and crops grow only while it is on them. Plant and water ahead of the light, harvest, and fill customer orders before dusk across 30 days. Each day is a few minutes of active, real-time play.

Sunsweep Acres is a farm time management game played in real time. Your field is six columns wide and starts with three usable rows. Each day a band of sunlight crosses it once, from west to east, and a crop grows only while it stands on a lit tile and is wet. The skill is anticipation: sow and water a column before the light arrives, so the crops start growing the moment it lands. It is an active game, not an idle one. Nothing grows while you are away, and every day starts with an empty field.

Water matters as much as light. Dim tiles never dry out, so watering ahead of the sun costs you nothing, but a thirsty crop on a lit tile wilts after six seconds, and a ripe crop left unpicked rots after 25. Harvest a crop while its tile is lit and it becomes sunsweet, which pays more. From Day 7 a barn shadow also drifts across part of the field from east to west. Most crops stop growing under it, while Duskroot grows best there, so the shadow becomes something to plan around rather than a penalty.

You work with three tools, Seeds, Can and Sickle. A fourth, Compost, arrives on Day 19 and speeds up one growing crop for a small fee. Drag across tiles to sow, water or harvest a whole row. Your hand carries out the queued actions one at a time, so the order of your plan counts. Customers join a queue as tickets, each with a patience timer. When the crate holds everything on a ticket, tap it to deliver. Quick service earns tips, and deliveries made in quick succession build a combo worth up to 50 percent extra. A customer who gives up and leaves ends the combo.

As a harvest game it is built in short rounds. A run is 30 days in five chapters: Thaw, Bloom, Highsun, Harvest and Frostline, and a day lasts between three and four and a half minutes. Something new turns up every few days. The crops arrive in the order Barley, Tomato, Duskroot, Corn, Pepper, Pumpkin and Sunflower, and the customers grow more demanding, from Walk-ins and Regulars to Couriers who leave quickly, Caterers with large orders and Appraisers who accept only sunsweet produce. Each day earns one to three stars, one star opens the next day, and the coins you earn buy permanent upgrades in the Workshop.

Once you have cleared Day 6, the Daily Field adds a separate day built from the date. This is a free farm game that needs no download, and your progress is saved in your browser with no account. It plays with a mouse, a touch screen or a keyboard, in landscape or portrait. Ads appear only between days. The optional Double Harvest reward on the result screen is never needed to progress.

How to play

  1. Press Play and choose Day 1. Read the day card, then press Start or Space.
  2. Look at the chips above the columns. They count down to when the light reaches each column. With Seeds selected, drag across tiles in the columns the light will reach next to sow barley.
  3. Select the Can and drag across the same tiles to water them. Dim tiles do not dry out, so you can water well before the light arrives.
  4. When a crop ripens, take the Sickle and tap or drag over it to harvest it into the crate. A crop harvested on a lit tile is sunsweet and pays more.
  5. Tap a customer's ticket once the crate covers every item on it. Serve quickly for tips, and deliver in a row to build a combo.
  6. When dusk falls the day ends and a tally shows your profit and stars. One star unlocks the next day, and you can spend your coins in the Workshop before you continue.

Tips

  • Plan one column ahead. Read the chips above the field and sow and water the column the light reaches next, so growth starts the moment the light lands.
  • Water while a tile is still dim. Dim tiles do not dry out, so early watering is free. Once a crop is in the light, keep it wet, because it wilts after six seconds without water.
  • Harvest before the light leaves the column. A crop picked on a lit tile is sunsweet and pays more than one picked on a dim tile.
  • Do not plant more than the tickets need. Seeds cost coins, and any harvested crop left in the crate at dusk sells for only 40 percent of its value.
  • Give Duskroot the shaded tiles. It grows fastest in the barn shadow, where nearly every other crop stands still.
  • Stock the crate before Couriers arrive from Day 16. They pay well but leave quickly, so a ready crate is worth more than a fresh seed.

Frequently asked questions

How does the light work?
A band of sunlight crosses the field once a day from west to east. It is three columns wide in the first six days and two columns wide after that. Crops grow only on lit, wet tiles, and chips above each column count down to "in" and "out" times. From Day 7 a barn shadow also crosses from east to west, and most crops do not grow under it.
How do the stars work?
Each day earns up to three stars by comparing your net profit with the base value of that day's tickets. You need about 44 percent for one star, 75 percent for two and 90 percent for three, and two or three stars allow at most two walkouts. A walkout is a customer who leaves or a ticket still open at dusk. One star unlocks the next day, and the day card shows the targets in coins.
What are upgrades and the Workshop?
The Workshop is where you spend coins between days on six permanent upgrades: Quick Hands, Field Extension, Rain Barrel, Reflector, Crate and Tally Bell. Between them they give you faster hands, extra rows, slower water loss, a wider sun band, a bigger crate and a longer combo window. Each one opens as you reach a certain day and applies to every normal day, including replays.
What is the Daily Field?
It is a separate day built from the date, with every crop and customer available and a barn shadow pattern that the date picks. It opens once you have cleared Day 6. It uses a fixed set of upgrades, Quick Hands and Field Extension at level one, so your Workshop purchases do not change it. Your best result for the date is saved, and the first star-earning clear each date gives 40 coins and extends your streak.
Is my progress saved, and do I need an account?
No account or download is needed. Your coins, stars, unlocked days, upgrades and settings are saved in your browser. Settings has a Reset progress button that asks you to tap it a second time before it erases anything.
Do I have to watch ads, and what is Double Harvest?
No. After a day that paid coins, the result screen may offer Double Harvest: if you choose to watch a short ad, you receive extra coins equal to that day's payout, up to 150. It changes no stars and unlocks nothing, and the button stays hidden when no ad is available. Ads appear only between days, never while a day is running.
Does it work on a phone, and can I play in portrait?
Yes. The layout switches between landscape and portrait to fit the screen, and rotating your phone in the middle of a day keeps the day running. Touch controls are tap and drag, and the day pauses if you switch to another tab or app.
